BE DILIGENT: THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN
FOCAL PASSAGE: Mark 3:22-30
REACTION TO JESUS’ PREACHING / TEACHING
1. FRIEND AND FOE
We see two strong responses.
Those who were closest to Him.
2. POWER OF BEELZEBUB
They indicate Jesus is possessed by Beelzebub.
This name is from the ancient Canaanites, meaning the “lord of the dung flies” or the “lord of filth.”
He is casting out demons by the prince of demons. The word “prince” refers to the chief demon and is another way of saying he bows to Beelzebub and serves Satan.
> A divided Kingdom cannot stand. Mark 3:24
> A divided house cannot stand. Mark 3:25
> A divided Satan cannot stand. Mark 3:26
Mark 3:29, Matthew 12:31-32
1. What is the unforgivable sin?
2. Takeaway from our study:
Christians cannot commit this sin.
When you believe in Jesus Christ for Eternal Life, then you have Eternal Life.
If you are concerned that you’ve committed the unforgivable sin, you haven’t.
This stands as a warning to those who persist in unbelief. Don’t sin away your day of grace.
