New Year’s Communion Service:
The Lord’s Supper
Mike Teel, Pastor
Focal Passage: John 21:1-17
The Setting Of Our Study
1. The Covenant Relationship
Pledges and stipulations of a covenant relationship: the dos and don’ts, the blessings and the curses; the exchanging of armament; the exchange of the name (Abram to Abraham), Sinner to Christian.
2. Restoring The Covenant
Jesus’ Invitation Of Restoration – John 21:10-15
Jesus Restores Peter – John 21:15-17
Application to our Lives
1. How have you failed in your Covenant Relationship?
How well are you keeping your end of the bargain?
Have the things of the world captured my heart? My relationship is not as close as it used to be.
Is there a habitual sin in my life, I know the Lord is not pleased with?
Have I allowed a relationship to cause there to be jealousy, envy, bitterness, un-forgiveness?
Is my thought life at times plagued with impure thoughts?
Have I neglected my quiet time: reading, studying, and praying?
Have I failed to share Christ with others?
2. God is inviting you today, to join Him in a simple meal of restoration.
