STRESS? WHO HAS STRESS? Peace...in Spite of Panic
Key Passages: Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 26:3-4
PEACE ACCORDING TO A PROPHET NAMED ISAIAH
In this passage it is important for you to understand that the prophet is not talking about international peace. He is talking about an individual at peace with himself, with God & with others.
Many of us are wrestling with STRESS and ANXIETY in our lives not because of the circumstances we are dealing with but because we do not have a sure foundation.
You need the LORD!
PEACE AMIDST UNFULFILLED DREAMS
Paul was going to take a detour for a short time. But his plan, his dream was to eventually get to Rome.
So Paul found himself in one place in life when he really wanted to be somewhere else.
And when we find ourselves with those unfulfilled dreams and expectations, it sets us into a downward spiral of life. . . disappointment (irritation) ---- defeat (arguing) ---- doubt (hopeless) --- depression (useless) ---- death (termination).
PEACE DEFINITION: Peace is the ability to remain faithful in spite of the panic of unfulfilled dreams.
PEACE AMIDST UNPLEASANT CIRCUMSTANCES
About the time you believe it cannot get any worse, guess what? It does.
When you declare the truth, you’re often blamed for it even though you didn’t write it.
What circumstances are uncontrollable in your life today that is rocking your world?
PEACE DEFINITION: Peace is the ability to stay calm in spite of the panic of unpleasant circumstances.
PEACE AMIDST AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE
When our future is cloudy and we are not sure what it holds, understand God is at work.
PEACE DEFINITION: Peace is the ability to wait patiently in spite of panic brought on by uncertainty.
