SYMBOLS OF EASTER:
Symbols Of The Crown Of Thorns And The Nails
KEY PASSAGE: Matthew 27:27-31 (NIV) 27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. 30 They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. 31 After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

CONSEQUENCES OF OUR SIN
So what did Jesus do with the “Punch List” of our lives?
GOD’S PROMISE IN THE NAILS
HOW DO WE KNOW JESUS WAS NAILED TO THE CROSS?
HISTORICALLY: That was the method used by the Romans.
SCRIPTURALLY: We have these verses that confirm.
· John 20:25 (NIV)
· Acts 2:23 (NIV)
· Colossians 2:13-14 (NIV)
2. WHY THE NAILS?
3. COVERED OUR PUNCH LIST
It was not the Roman Soldiers who placed the Crown of Thorns on Jesus brow nor placed the Nails strategically in Jesus’ hands and feet – it was you and it was me!
LIVE IT OUT
