SYMBOLS OF EASTER:
Symbols of the Empty Tomb -Hope, Faith, and Love
FOCAL PASSAGE: Luke 24:1-12 (NIV)
THE EMPTY TOMB GIVES US . . . HOPE
Hope is an essential element in life for us.
Job 14:14a (NKJV)
I Thessalonians 4:13-18 (NIV)
Hope not in a maybe or “hope so” way, but in a affirming way.
THE EMPTY TOMB GIVES US . . . FAITH
If Jesus could not keep His promise to resurrect from the dead, then we cannot have faith in His promise to redeem us from our sins and have Eternal Life.
Remember His promises:
--Matthew 12:40 (NIV)
--John 2:19 (NIV)
--John 14:27-29 (NIV)
--I Corinthians 15:13-19 (NIV)
Our hope leads us to express faith in Christ that He died for our sins and rose from the dead according Scripture.
I Corinthians 15:3-5 (NIV)
THE EMPTY TOMB GIVES US . . . LOVE
Why would Jesus endure such pain and suffering on the cross and why was it important for the tomb to be empty? Because of the deep love He has for us and the strong desire out of that love that no one should perish.
Matthew 18:14 (NIV)
John 3:16 (NKJV)
Romans 5:8 (NIV)
Romans 10:8-13 (NIV)
LIVE IT OUT
-- If you have not done so, would you receive Christ as your risen LORD and SAVIOR?
-- If you have received Christ as your risen LORD and SAVIOR, how can you live your life in such a way it reflects it?
