The Cry of My Heart
Week 1 - “An Invitation to Pray”
While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time: 2 “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable (KJV Mighty) things you do not know.’ - Jeremiah 33:1-3
I. God’s Invitation – “Call to me” (vv. 3)
II. God’s Promise “I will answer you”
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28
III. God’s Revelation – “I will show thee great and might things which thou knowest not.”
a. He wants to show us Himself
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. - Philippians 3:7-8
b. He wants to show us what He is able to do
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. - John 15:16
