YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Turning Defeat Into Victory
Key Focal Passages: Joshua 8:1-8
A NEW BEGINNING . . . Joshua 8:1-2
· Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV)
· No matter what mistake we may make, the worse mistake of all is not to try again.
· Today God is offering some of you a new beginning: Saved, new marriage, new attitudes, new hope, etc.
A NEW STRATEGY . . . Joshua 8:3-4
God is not only a God of New Beginnings, but He’s also the God of INFINITE VARIETY.
GOD IS THE SAME YET EVER CHANGING.
What is not working for you right now? Ask God to show you a new or different strategy that He desires to use to deliver you from the bondage of something that is holding you back.
A NEW VICTORY . . . Joshua 8:18-20 (NKJV)
There is nothing like the thrill of victory! And there is nothing like the agony of defeat!
HOW DO YOU DEFINE VICTORY? This morning you need to define the WIN, the VICTORY for you, your family, our church, etc.
If you do not define the VICTORY you will never experience the victory. It will always be just beyond you, around the next corner, over the next hill, but you will never get there. And there will never be peace in your life.
A NEW COMMITMENT . . . Joshua 8:30-32
After God had provided A NEW BEGINNING, NEW STRATEGY, NEW VICTORY Joshua led the people 30 miles north to Shechem, which lies in the valley between Mt. Ebal and Mt. Gerizim. There they pledged themselves anew to commit to following the lead of God with all of their lives.
What steps do you need to take this morning to affirm your commitment to the Lord?
